All these old shots are so interesting! The one of Mrs. Woodrow Wilson was really good!
love this!
very very cool.
could this be a brand new 1912 Fenway Park, considering the uniforms say Red Sox and not Boston? a little help from the SABR members?
Nice posing.
I have to agree. I have sat behind those pillars before. It looks like my view of the game
Most likely taken in NY during the World Series. They didn’t have anything written on the Home uniforms.
There is no way that is Fenway Park. The walls are too low, even for 1912. Also, home uniforms with pinstripes had no lettering, as noted above. This is an away game. The sticker in the left corner has a date, but I can’t make it out. It looks like it says 10/18, but the Series ended before the 18th. If anyone can figure out that sticker, it will give an exact date.
Most of these Bain photos were taken in & around New York, so I agree with those who say this is not Fenway. It also looks like the Polo Grounds, based on the photos I’ve seen.
The date on the sticker looks like 10/15 to me – but that day’s game WAS at Fenway. Perhaps the sticker indicates the day on which the photo was published? If that were the case, it would likely have been taken during the previous day’s game, at the Polo Grounds on 10/14/12 (a game the Giants won, 5-2).
