When I purchased the Jugs Small Ball Pitching Machine, I also purchased the four dozen bucket of Jugs Small Balls to go along with it. If you do not want to pay the extra money for the four dozen small ball package, I would recommend purchasing at least one or two dozen extra balls when you order the pitching machine as the pitching machine only comes with maybe five balls total, which you run through very quickly during batting practice. These balls are made of a foam/sponge type material which is weather proof, very durable and even float. Unless you hit one of these in the yard with the mower or something, it is not likely that you will tear them up, which means you will not have to replace them very often. I would recommend this product to anyone that does not like chasing four or five balls at a time.
