he says if the center fielder calls for the ball then the other fielders should back off??? I’d agree that the center gets it, however one of the other fielders should back up center in case he drops it … right?

This guy knows what he is talking about I mean the glove maybe he’s a first baseman and he uses a mitt but I’d like to see somebody else do it better then him and “I GOT IT, I GOT IT, I GOT IT!!!!” Is what everybody says…..

After watching this video I have to agree with him, I have always been taught to catch fly balls with two hands but for me one hand has always been more fluid, you also more flexible and if you have any lick of talent the ball will stay in your glove, i dont get why so many coaches advocate two hands

donttasemebro92 August 22, 2010 at 11:58 pm

how about yell “ball, ball, ball” way less words.

jon3133 August 23, 2010 at 12:54 am

honestly. im not hating on the dude. but teaching kids 2 take an extra step when they throw the ball in is horrible. Outfielders have to get the ball in quick. using one hand 2 catch the ball is only recommended if u could make up the timing with a great arm. its all about timing.

XxSmiller1xX August 23, 2010 at 1:49 am

dont yell “I GOT IT” .. yell “MINE, MINE” .. i got it sounds to much like you got it!

Butters1470 August 23, 2010 at 2:40 am

Where did this guy come from? I can understand the mitt because it may be all that’s available. Getting under a ball? One or two hands doesn’t matter? I like outfielders that get under the ball instead of behind the ball moving forward, because I know if I tag I have a great shot. Also, two hand on the ball, like the catching position, with the throwing hand near the glove makes for a quick transition to throwing his butt out.

jettboyy13 August 23, 2010 at 4:04 am

did you guys stop to think that maybe he doesnt normally play the position he is doing a video about. I normally play shortstop, but I can play any position on the field.

strike4mike August 23, 2010 at 4:09 am

yo why are all you guys on his dick bout his glove and everything else, hes just trying to teach ppl shit, so shut the fuck up and listen to him. From what i hear he’s a good coach, so hop off his dick.

bunnoxing August 23, 2010 at 4:17 am

he has a arguable point, thou. dnt u agree??

DrillSgtStevan August 23, 2010 at 5:06 am

how come on that first fkly you only caught it with one hand my coach says catch it with 2 so you can throw it to someone with less time

dlang00001 August 23, 2010 at 5:56 am

My thoughts exactly. I wonder how much outfield did he play with that mitt?

ichitchy August 23, 2010 at 6:45 am

can he count?

mikeys12 August 23, 2010 at 7:36 am

John,
Why do you have a firstbasemans mitt for an outfield drill? hahahaha
