I would also like to point out that Jay Johnstone was the first Mariner At Bat in the opening of this scene. Jay Johnstone never played for the Marinersin real life. he played for the Angels Whitesoxs A’s Yankees Padres Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. He also was a well known Prankster and funny man.

Correct. “Wrongfully Accused” was a sendup of “The Fugitive”. I think that movie, along with “Baseketball” were the last two movies from the ZAZ (Zucker, Abrahams & Zucker) gang–they were both released in the summer of 1999–and both of these movies bombed at the box office.

It doesn’t get any better than this. Leslie Nielson is one of the funniest actors ever. Great movie. Great song. Great scene. Thank goodness they got approval to put real MLB teams in this, it would’ve sucked with fake teams. Top-3 comedy ever…maybe #1.
