The Fieseler Fi 103, better known as the V-1 'Buzz Bomb', (German: Vergeltungswaffe 1, retaliation weapon), also colloquially known in Britain as the 'Doodlebug', was an early pulse-jet-powered example of what would later be called a cruise missile. The V-1 was developed at Peenemünde Airfield by the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War. Henry Louis "Lou" Gehrig (June 19, 1903 -- June 2, 1941), nicknamed "The Iron Horse" for his durability, was an American Major League Baseball first baseman. He played his entire 17-year baseball career for the New York Yankees (1923--1939). Gehrig set several major league records. A collection of over 200 historical newsreels. Each newsreel runs approximately 3 minutes and covers the most important events of the first half of the 20th century.

Product Description
The tee ball Warrior bat features a long barrel design with a -10 weight/length difference.Amazon.com Product Description
Designed for extremely young players, the Louisville Slugger TB95W Warrior tee-ball bat combines serious durability and high performance. From the earliest days of the game, Louisville Slugger has employed the most powerful technology in the bat business. Back in the days of Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth, that meant putting the most skilled craftsmen at the lathe, where they handcrafted bats to the most demanding specifications of the world's most demanding players. Today, it means applying the latest aerospace technology to bat making, delivering high-tech aluminum, hybrid, and composite bats for youth, high school, college, and senior leagues.

The TB95W Warrior bat is made from a tough 7050 aluminum alloy. The material is extremely durable and crack-resistant, making it ideal for heavy rotation use. Other features include a 2-1/4-inch barrel thickness, a rolled end, a 7/8-inch standard handle with a synthetic grip, and a -10 oz. weight ratio without the grip. Available in 24-, 25-, and 26-inch lengths (with weights from 14 to 16 ounces), the TB95W Warrior bat carries an industry-best one-year warranty.

About Louisville Slugger
In many ways, the rich 120-year history of the Louisville Slugger baseball bat began in the talented hands of 17-year-old John A. "Bud" Hillerich. Bud's father, J.F. Hillerich, owned a woodworking shop in Louisville in the 1880s when Bud began working for him. Legend has it that Bud slipped away from work one afternoon in 1884 to watch the Louisville Eclipse, the town's major league team. After Pete Browning--the Eclipse's star who was mired in a hitting slump--broke his bat, Bud invited him to his father's shop to make a new one. With Browning at his side giving advice, Bud handcrafted a new bat from a long slab of wood. Browning got three hits using the bat the next day. Browning told his teammates, which began a surge of professional ballplayers visiting the Hillerich shop.

Although J.F. Hillerich had little interest in making bats, Bud persisted, eventually registering the name Louisville Slugger with the U.S. patent office in 1894. In the early 1900s, the company was one of the first to use a sports endorsement as a marketing strategy, paying Hall of Famer Honus Wagner to use his name on a bat. By 1923, Louisville Slugger was the selling more bats than any other bat maker in the country, with such famed clients as Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and Lou Gehrig. In the ensuing years, the company has sold more than 100 million bats, and 60 percent of all Major League players currently use Louisville Sluggers. The company now sells far more than bats, including fielding and batting gloves, helmets, catchers' gear, equipment bags, training aids, and accessories.

I've heard recently (just got into watching a lot of games this season) that 2B is traditionally a defensive position, but recently there have been more skilled batters manning the two-bagger. Do any other positions have such connotations? For which position are certain skills (speed, arm strength) important? How about other skills? Anything else I should know?

Thanks in advance!

Product Description
For the first time ever, Louisville Slugger is offering Major League quality wood to non-professional players. It's your first chance to get the exact MLB quality wood, finish and turning as Derek Jeter. The Turning model is P72 and the finish is Black-Smith.Amazon.com Product Description
Don't make the mistake of thinking all wood bats are the same. They may look similar, but the quality of the wood is very different from one wood bat company to another. Louisville Slugger sets itself apart from other bat makers with more than 120 years of bat-making experience, outstanding turning models, and access to the best-quality wood on the market. Now, for the first time ever, Louisville Slugger is offering Major League-quality wood bats to non-professional players. This replica bat, for instance, features the exact same wood construction (MLB-grade ash), finish (black/smith), and turning model (P72) as Derek Jeter's actual bat, making it a great choice for serious Yankees fans.

The Derek Jeter bat is made of high-quality ash--pound for pound the strongest timber available. Ash also offers a flexibility that isn't found in other timbers, including maple. The result is a barrel that tends to flex rather than break, giving you a larger, more forgiving sweet spot in terms of breakage. In addition, ash is lighter than maple, so players can choose from among several large-barrel sizes. The Derek Jeter replica bat is available in 32-, 33-, and 34-inch lengths and weighs between 30 (32-inch and 33-inch bat) and 31 (34-inch bat) ounces.

Note: The biggest factors that influence the life of a wood bat are the quality of wood and where the ball hits your bat. Until you gain experience hitting with wood bats, however, don't be surprised if you break a lot of bats. Unlike with aluminum bats, when you hit a ball along the handle or at the end of a wood bat, you may break the bat rather than get a hit. It takes a lot of practice, but with work, you will find that you break fewer bats and become a much better hitter.
